The Commonwealth Party will also support the better housing and sequestering of the mentally ill who cannot support themselves and/or put themselves or society in danger. Undue barriers to committing those wandering the streets and homeless will be removed with sufficient checks put in place. Innovative and fair forms of funding for facility and personnel should be sought such as private donations, corporate funding, contributions from the families of the mentally ill, diverted tax funding from pork, etc. Privatization of state facilities should be considered where possible with adequate supervision through inspections and audits by the state and third-parties. |
