INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS

The Commonwealth Party is a party of preserving and defending individual rights and private ownership. Commonwealths will favor laws and policies or the interpretation and crafting of laws and policies to protect individual rights. Commonwealths will try to prevent scenarios where a person's or group's rights or even their perceived rights are traded off in order to restore or preserve certain plural rights of individuals and/or the masses respectively. However, when reasonable compromises fail we will uphold reasonable restrictions that are a trade-off to gaining greater freedoms for all.*

*Look up restrictions for yelling "Fire!" in a theatre or Lincoln's suspension of habeas corpus during the Civil War.
